EU Industry Days: Putting EU industrial ecosystems on the path to the green and digital transitions

EU Industry days 2022

Starting tomorrow, the fifth edition of the EU Industry Days, the largest EU event focusing on the future of Europe's industries, is taking place in Brussels and online.

The event, which will be held until 11 February, is an opportunity for key industry players to discuss the progress made and next steps needed to achieve industry's green and digital transitions, while improving resilience. The event will bring together key EU policy-makers, industrial frontrunners, representatives of SMEs, regions, civil society organisations and other interested parties and EU citizens.  Commission President Ursula von der Leyen will deliver an opening speech on Thursday 10 February.

Over the four days, Executive Vice-Presidents Margrethe Vestager and Valdis Dombrovskis, Vice-President Maroš Šefčovič and Commissioners Thierry Breton, Mariya Gabriel and Nicolas Schmit will also deliver keynote speeches. This year's event aims to take a more detailed look at the twin transitions in specific industrial ecosystems. The Transition Pathway for Tourism will be presented on the first day of the Industry Days, where industries and relevant parties will discuss measure for a suitable tourism sector. The construction ecosystem will announce a partnership to re-skill and up-skill workforce in the construction sector, with the support of the Commission. In light of the 2022 European Year of Youth, this year's event also features a special youth programme that aims to attract young Europeans to discuss how their generation can shape the future of European industry.

The event will also be complemented by more than 80 regional and local events across the EU and beyond, as well as a virtual exhibition and a new podcast series zooming in to the different topics discussed at the main event. The event can be followed online by registering here, or on social media using the hashtag #EUIndustryDays
