European Commission Representation participates in Nexus 2026

The European Commission Representation in Luxembourg took part in Nexus 2026, held on 10 and 11 June 2026 at LuxExpo The Box. As Luxembourg's leading technology and innovation event, Nexus brought together over 9.000 participants from numerous countries, among which policymakers, researchers, businesses, entrepreneurs, startups, investors, technology professionals and students to explore the latest developments in artificial intelligence, digital technologies, cybersecurity and innovation.

A partner since the first edition three years ago, the Representation's participation aimed to raise awareness of recent key European Union policies and initiatives in the fields of digital technologies, innovation and security, tech sovereignty and AI while engaging directly with stakeholders and increasing the visibility of EU action in these strategic areas. Many colleagues from various EC services (DG CONNECT, DG DEFIS, DG GROW, the Publications Office of the European Union and the European Commission Representation in Luxembourg) had joined for the occasion and delivered insightful presentations on key Commission initiatives. Throughout the two-day event, the Representation’s booth attracted a broad audience and engaged in meaningful exchanges with visitors from all over Europe and beyond. 

Visitors were able to learn more about a wide range of EU initiatives, including the Artificial Intelligence Act (AI Act), the EU Cybersecurity Strategy, the Digital Decade policy programme, the European Competitiveness Fund, the Tech Sovereignty Package, the use of disruptive technologies in the field of defence, as well as other initiatives supporting innovation, investment and digital transformation. Factsheets and explanatory materials were available throughout the event to help visitors better understand the objectives and benefits of these European policies.

The Representation also organised a programme of presentations at its stand featuring experts from several European Commission Directorates-General and services, including DG CONNECT, DG DEFIS, DG GROW and the Publications Office. In addition, participants had the opportunity to hear an online intervention by Executive Vice-President Henna Virkkunen, who presented the European Commission's vision for Europe's digital future and the role of the EU in fostering innovation, competitiveness and technological sovereignty.

By participating in Nexus 2026, the European Commission Representation reaffirmed its commitment to informing citizens and stakeholders about the European Union's digital agenda, fostering dialogue on the opportunities and challenges of emerging technologies, and promoting a secure, innovative and competitive digital Europe.
